The Foundation for the international road transport names Boris Blanche as CEO
The Foundation for the international road transport announces appointment of Boris Blanche as CEO as of 20 September 2019.
With this new endeavour, Boris Blanche will focus on strengthening the Foundation to increase its impact and visibility as a leading organisation driving innovation in the mobility and logistics sector. He will notably reinforce the Foundation’s charitable activities, finalise the restructuring of its subsidiaries, and further support the transport and mobility revolution.
With investment banking and multinational consumer goods experience, along with his strong credentials in the mobility and logistics sector, and his years of working closely with transport associations, the United Nations and the International Community in Geneva, Blanche’s appointment also cements Geneva’s up and coming role as a hub for private-public partnerships in transport and mobility.
Entrusted with this important mandate, Boris Blanche has stepped down as IRU Managing Director in order to embrace fully his new responsibilities. The change also allows the distinct roles and responsibilities of IRU and the Foundation to be clarified further.
IRU President Christian Labrot commented: “Boris Blanche’s energy and leadership over the past seven years have been crucial in reforming IRU and making it significantly more transparent and accountable”.
He added, “I and the entire IRU Board are fully supportive of this new appointment, which will champion innovation within the grass roots of the industry, and we very much look forward to future collaboration with Boris Blanche at the helm of the Foundation.”
IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto said, “With a huge passion for innovation in the road transport, mobility and logistics industry, Boris Blanche was instrumental in driving considerable progress within IRU over the past years and I wish him all the very best of success in his new endeavour.”
